Tom Warren served with the 3rd Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, and drove a Bradley fighting vehicle in a scout platoon during Operation Desert Storm.  Warren was awarded the Bronze Star and the Achievement Medal for meritorious service.  His unit captured this Iraqi flag at Safwan, Iraq which is in the south on the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border.  Formal cease-fire negotiations between General Norman Schwarzkopf and Iraqi Lieutenant General Sultan Hashim Ahmad took place at the Safwan Airfield.
