This 1st Division ring belonged to Henry J. The gold ring has a big red ‘1’ insignia with a wreath surround on the top and a lion with diamond eyes on either side. Sommer. Sommer received a Silver Star for carrying a wounded soldier to an aid station through heavy enemy fire on May 2nd, 1918 in the Cantigny sector. Sommer served with the Company F, 1st Ammunition Train, 26th Infantry Regiment.
