What to Expect

The First Division Museum staff is excited to welcome guests back to the museum. Health and safety are the highest priority for everyone during this time. Please see below for common questions about current operations.


Guest Health and Safety

  • What steps are being taken to follow public health guidelines?
    The health and safety of visitors, volunteers and staff members is our highest priority. Heightened cleaning and disinfecting procedures are in place, and guests are expected to practice social distancing. Face coverings are required inside the museum. Currently, the museum restrooms are only available to ticket holders; however, restrooms are available in the park.

Visiting the First Division Museum

  • How do I book my visit?
    The museum is open on a reservations-only basis, Wednesday through Sunday.
  • How many people can I bring in my group?
    At this time, there is no limit to the number of tickets an individual can obtain. Please remember that tickets must be reserved for all participants, infants through adults.
  • What if I am late for my timed ticket?
    Visitors are welcome to arrive at any time during their reservation and stay for the duration of the ticketed time slot. Please be aware that there is no re-entry after exiting the museum.
  • How far in advance can I reserve tickets to the museum?
    Ticketing opens 2-3 weeks in advance.
  • Can schools still visit?
    Yes, if you contact us in advance, we can reserve special field trip tickets for your group. The First Division Museum can send self-guided activities for your visit. We are always happy to customize programs and activities to different grade levels and interests. Cantigny Park offers a variety of virtual and onsite school programming related to history, military history, science, and early childhood education. Explore the options.

Outdoor Spaces

  • Is the Tank Park open?
    Our tank park is open to guests during Cantigny Park hours. Please be mindful of social distancing and safety when climbing on tanks.
  • What else is open at Cantigny Park?
    The gardens, grounds, picnic area, playground and Visitors Center are open. The McCormick House is closed for renovation and will reopen in 2022.
